Getting a new electricity connection from IESCO involves a clear, step-by-step process — but knowing what documents to prepare, how much it costs, and how long it takes can save you multiple trips to the office.

This guide covers the complete application process for residential, commercial, and industrial connections — from document submission to meter installation.

Required Documents

Gather these documents before visiting the IESCO Sub-Division Office. Incomplete applications are the most common reason for delays.

For Residential Connection

  • CNIC — Copy of your National Identity Card
  • Ownership proof — Property tax receipt, allotment letter, or registry
  • Permission letter from owner — Required only if you are a tenant
  • Wiring contractor report — Must be from a licensed electrician registered with IESCO

For Commercial, Industrial, or Agricultural Connection

  • All residential documents listed above
  • NTN certificate and business registration documents
  • Site plan of the premises
  • Load estimate — Total electricity load required in kilowatts

Tip: Get your wiring report from an IESCO-registered contractor only. Reports from unregistered electricians are rejected at the office.

Step-by-Step Application Process

1- Submit your application — Visit the nearest IESCO Sub-Division Office with all required documents. You can also download the application form from iesco.com.pk and fill it out before visiting.
2- Receive your tracking number — After submission, IESCO gives you an application tracking number. Keep this safely — you will need it to follow up on your application status.
3- Site survey — IESCO sends a team to inspect your property, verify the location, and assess the load requirement. Be present at the property on the survey day.
4- Demand notice — If the survey is clear, IESCO issues a demand notice listing all charges: connection fee, security deposit, and service line costs.
5- Pay the demand notice — Pay the amount at any designated bank or IESCO collection office. Keep the paid receipt — you will submit it to IESCO as proof of payment.
6- Meter installation — After payment verification, IESCO installs your meter. Residential connections get a single-phase meter. High-load commercial or industrial setups get a three-phase meter.

Important: Do not pay anyone who asks for cash informally to speed up the process. All IESCO payments are made at designated banks only.
